Tourist Visa

A Vietnam tourist visa is a short-term visa that allows foreigners to enter Vietnam for tourism purposes, such as sightseeing, visiting friends and family, or exploring the country’s culture and attractions.

Purpose :

Non-business purposes such as tourism, leisure, or visiting family.

Cannot be used for work or business activities.

Validity :

1 month or 3 months.

Available as single-entry or multiple-entry.

Eligibility

The Vietnam tourist visa is available for most nationalities. Citizens of some countries are eligible for visa exemptions (ranging from 15–90 days). Check Vietnam's visa exemption list for details.

Application Methods

1. Via Embassy/Consulate

Submit documents directly to a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in your country.

Required documents:

• Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay).
• Completed visa application form.
• Passport-sized photo (4x6cm, white background).
• Visa fee (varies by embassy/consulate).

2. Visa on Arrival (VOA)

Obtain a pre-approved visa letter through a Vietnamese travel agency or visa service.

Required documents:

• Pre-approved visa letter.
• Passport (valid for 6+ months).
• Completed visa application form.
• Two passport-sized photos (4x6cm).
• Visa stamping fee (in cash).

Available at 8 international airports:

• Noi Bai, Cat Bi, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Lien Khuong, Phu Quoc, Can Tho, Tan Son Nhat.

3. E-Visa

Apply online

Required documents:

• Passport (scanned copy of the data page).
• Recent passport-sized photo.
• Valid for 1-month single entry.

Fees

Visa on Arrival:

Service fee (for the approval letter) (agency-dependent).

Stamping fee:

• 1 month, single entry
• 1 month, multiple entries
• 3 months, single entry
• 3 months, multiple entries

E-Visa:

(As per plan) for a 1-month single entry visa.

Processing Times

• Embassy/Consulate: 5–7 working days.

Extending a Tourist Visa

To extend your Vietnam tourist visa, follow these steps:
